World-Leading Mechanical Recovery of Ultra-Thin Oil Sheen

The Aqua-Guard RBS TRITON™ 10 – CFSH Sheen Recovery System addresses the critical gap between mechanical oil recovery and sorbents, specifically the effective recovery of thin oil layers (sheens). Existing mechanical solutions are effective in light to heavy viscosity oil spills (thick oil layers) but are not efficient in “film-type, oil sheens”.

The vast majority of sorbents, the current primary method for sheen recovery, are inefficient, wasteful and costly to dispose of. As a result, these spills are most often deemed “non-recoverable” and bypassed, leaving the oil to disperse throughout the sensitive marine environment, causing long-term ecological harm and social/economic damages.

Aqua-Guard’s CFSH (Carbon Fibre Super Hydrophobic) recovery technology directly addresses this critical gap by providing a mechanical solution capable of efficiently recovering previously deemed non-recoverable oil sheens less than 50 microns, down to less than 0.08-micron thickness.
